Hoarding Disorder Treatment in Waukesha County.
Compassionate, collaborative, expert care to help you find freedom, at your own pace.
You don't have to face this alone anymore.
Maybe you avoid having people over, feel ashamed of your living space, or struggle to find things when you need them. You might worry that no one understands how hard it is to let go of your belongings, or fear being judged for how your home looks right now.
You're not broken, and this isn't a character flaw.
How Hoarding Disorder Treatment Works
Living with hoarding is complex, and healing requires care that addresses both the practical challenges and the deeper emotional roots. I work with you to understand what's driving the difficulty with discarding items, and we'll process the underlying experiences that often fuel these behaviors.
My approach includes:
Understanding your unique relationship with your belongings
Working at your pace without judgment or pressure
Processing the parts of your past that contribute to holding on
Building skills to manage the anxiety that comes with letting go
Collaborating with other professionals on your team when helpful

Flexible Treatment Options
-
Individual therapy in-person or online
We'll focus on what's really going on underneath - the anxiety, past experiences, and emotional connections that make letting go feel impossible. You'll understand why your brain works this way and learn gentle ways to cope.
-
In-home sessions
For clients within 20-25 minutes of my Waukesha office, I can provide specialized in-home support to work directly in your living space (pending a phone consultation for safety and fit).
-
Collaboration with your providers
If you're already working with a professional organizer or home coach, I can provide the therapeutic component while they handle the practical organizing work.
Why this approach
Unlike organizing services that only address the clutter, I help you understand and heal the deeper reasons behind the hoarding.
When we address the trauma, anxiety, and attachment issues at the root, the behavioral changes become more sustainable.
You'll learn it's safe to let go, understand why your brain developed this coping strategy, and develop healthier ways to manage difficult emotions.
Fees & FAQs

-
Yes! I often collaborate with professional organizers, home coaches, and other specialists to provide comprehensive support.
-
Insurance coverage for in-home hoarding sessions is complex. While I accept several insurance plans for office-based therapy, in-home sessions are typically longer (75+ minutes) and may not have appropriate billing codes that insurance companies consistently cover. Most of my clients currently pay privately for this specialized service.
I'd recommend calling your insurance company directly to ask about coverage for extended in-home mental health sessions - they can give you the most accurate information for your specific plan.

We willstart with a brief phone consultation so I can understand your current situation and we can make a plan together for how to help you move forward. I want to assure you that this conversation will be compassionate and non-judgmental. I have worked with many clients who struggle with hoarding and I understand how sensitive it is. I deeply respect your courage in reaching out for support.
As part of the process I’ll ask you about biohazardous materials that may be present, animals that live in the home, or any other major safety concerns.

The part of you that brought you here already knows you're ready for change.
